Alex Javier Garcia is a marvel. I'm so very fortunate to have him as my trainer and I'd like to tell you why he is a gem of gems. At first I was hesitant to work with Alex- as a 70 year old I thought he was too young to know anything, was worried that he'd be too gentle for fear of me injuring this 'old lady', and I thought this might be money I didn't need to spend....I've been participating in sports all my life, and going to the gym for 40 years ...did I really need a trainer? My initial motivation in hiring him was because after major and complete rotator cuff tears and rejecting the orthopedic surgeon's shoulder replacement recommendation I needed help learning recruiting different muscles to regain shoulder and arm mobility and strength. He assessed my strengths, weaknesses, limitations, mobility, and carriage. The progress has been excellent. My body feels more balanced, more mobile, and stronger. My posture has improved, my shoulder has gained mobility and strength and I'm delighted and no longer feel I need the shoulder replacement. I feel like he is turning back the aging of my body.

Alex has been my personal trainer for the past three years, and it's completely changed the way that I approach fitness and think about my health. As a former soccer player, I always loved physical activity and challenges growing up. But after years of social pressure, I started associating going to the gym strictly with the way that I looked instead of the way that I felt. It became a chore that I dreaded.

After working with Alex and gaining an understanding of true health and wellness, I've been able to reintegrate my love of movement into my everyday life. I now look forward to our sessions every week and have noticed a huge difference in my mental and physical wellbeing. Being out of shape and having never worked out before, I was unfamiliar with almost everything about exercising and gym equipment. Alex was very patient and started me with basic exercises for flexibility, strength and balance, and we worked up from there. Alex clearly knows a lot about the muscles of the body and puts that knowledge to good use in selecting exercises. I enjoyed my workouts with Alex and highly recommend him to anyone wanting to get in shape and have fun at the same time.
